Well not really, for the past 2 hours. I’ve been singing pretty loudly because no one is at home and I’m finished with everything..for now…My voice hurts now and I think its time for some tea. My fingers hurt, I have callouses on top of callouses on top of callouses now because of strumming way too hard and barring chords. My wrist hurts a lot too. This is my new workout.

UT audition
I think I did justice to Kreisler’s Schon Rosmarin today. It makes me happy when I can so effortlessly and endearingly draw out such a beautiful melody. But it’s never this way on a stage, in front of a judge, even in front of a friend. It’s as if the sound I make is not my own. I have no control over how I sound.

Stanford Audition
I completely forgot 1 measure of my solo Bach. I didn’t bring sheet music, but as I simply could not get past that 1 measure, the judge gave me his own music, which was conveniently lying on the chair beside him. Finally, on the third try, I continued. But that fall scarred me for the rest of the audition. The rest was mechanical and tentative.
UT lost.
Oh well.

APMC and PIANO
I got my APMC essays back today, and I was pleasantly surprised. I attribute my successes on those assessments to my blogging. I notice myself writing quicker and more fluidly – although not necessarily eloquently. Even now, as I review my work, I find that my first three sentences begin with “I.” Whatever.
