Tea and pee
Yesterday, I attended a dinner party at our house. The best part of those events is dessert, when one gets to sip awesome Oriental tea and listen in on a conversation. Drinking so much tea, one usually gets a pot-belly because one has intook so much fluid and has to go pee, and the pee feels really good. After a movie, one also has to go pee. And it also feels really good. I saw 2 rounds of...

Violin lesson
Today I was a pseudo-teacher of a pseudo-violin lesson for an 8th grader. He played the last movement of Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor. It was pretty good, but I noticed how badly he rushed the whole thing. The parts that were supposed to be singing or facetious - they were mauled through with no care or feeling. And when I asked him, “Don’t you just feel this section...

so
momocastles: today I was pissed because I finally realized that I didn’t have a secret santa..hence the lack of presents. I kinda knew, but I wanted to stay optimistic. I mean, my request was in the box. so. anyways. I told Ms. Williams (awesome, awesome), and so she rushes out to get me something. I have this awesome looking mute. I can’t wait to show y’all. thanks Jonathan and Vivian for...

Is it a sin
momocastles: too spend the last two hours reading manga? I feel kinda bad. I bet I’m going to get yelled at by Joanna for feeling this way UH, HOW BOUT YOU GET YELLED AT BY ME. YEAH, IM SUPPOSED TO NOT SLACK AS MUCH AS YOU BUT WHAT YOU SAY IS RIDICULOUS. JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE. it’s fun to slack! really…sorry Joanna, I kinda stole your thunder. for the record, i didn’t...

In response to Sean: (refer to previous post)
There seems to be miscommunication on the first point. When I say, “God answers my legitimate doubts,” I do not mean “God,” the word, is the answer to my doubts. God answers them, i.e., through Strobel’s book. I do not believe Strobel works with circular reasoning. I can lend it to you sometime (Tim has it presently). As to the second point: Can non-Christian’s love? While pondering this...

One Reason I believe in Jesus Christ
seanli: lifeofjc: My parents have always loved me. Growing up and reminiscing on the past, I do not recall a single instance my mother or father spoke the words, “I love you” to me. But I remember once, when I innocently and curiously asked them, “Would you die for me and Leslie?” They affirmed it, nodding their heads. This is real love. Love is “substitutional sacrifice,” as one theologian...

“According to my education, I would have to say ye—-no, it’s not a metaphor”
– - Bing Ahoyt. (via nivekuk) LOL, i think it was more like “According to my education, I believe so.” “EXCUSE ME?! (Josh Jeng) (i die)” “…I believe no.”

Since everyone's talking about college
Today, I felt really weird. After reading about so many people getting into reputedly good schools (Wash U, U Penn, Caltech, Stanford, Tufts, Purdue, sorry if I left yours out…) I couldn’t help but feel pressured to get into a “good” school myself. I always wanted to go to UT just because I don’t have a particular dream school. It’s cheap, my sister likes it....

My sister plays piano
…and I’m listening to her. It’s “Maybe” by Yiruma. It’s sentimental, questioning, yearning, and maybe that’s why I’m blogging about my sis. OH, she just changed to “River Flows in You.” Good choice. Anyways, we had some quality bro-sis bonding time recently, from studying together in the same room - sharing the communal silence and the...

Roofer
I was contentedly perusing through vectors and planes in my IB HL math book when suddenly I glanced out my window and saw a Hispanic male wearing a straw hat and a maroon A&M sweater. He freaked me out. I never see human beings close-up from a window from my second-story room. But there he was. There is a certain methodical skill that he exercises. Always almost gracefully done, with a...

And I say I'm Canadian
This cold really strikes me to the bone. Today I saw a young man in blue jeans and cowboy boots - a real Texan - strolling confidently against the lash of the wind. Meanwhile, I was hunched over, my arms crossed, my body shuddering. How ironic.

Emotion
The next time someone asks me “how are you?” I’ll play my violin for them. I wish I could do that.

Sibling Love
grace92notes: Sis: Then I can have the house to myself and eat when I want and do what I want. Me: That’s what you’re looking forward to when I go to college? Sis: Yeah, because then I don’t have to be with you anymore. Me: I love you too. You never fully appreciate something/someone until it/he/she is gone. It’s true.
